I would recommend both separate and seek counseling with serious commitment. Communication is important. Seek forgiveness. Stay away from instigators whether family or friends.

Wow. Same thing that I went through. I thought I was going to be alone and miserable for the rest of my life. I didn’t do anything to my wife or her family. The reason why she did not give it a chance was because of her mother. My ex wife was mommy’s girl. Mom was a royal witch. Now I am making great money, have a great wife from the Philippines who loves me and a Mother in law who adore me, step children who want to take my name and be adopted by me being legal father. Life is good.
