I’m a retired Sergeant of police of the Chicago Police Department whose last assignment was as the Commanding Officer of the Field Training and Evaluation Section at the Education and Training Academy of the Chicago Police Department. The job required me to oversee the field training of about one thousand probationary police officers throughout their eighteen months probationary period. I served as the Human Resource expert for their group. My responsibilities also required me to oversee the work ethics of the almost four hundred Field Training Officers and ensure that their efficiency ratings remained at a certain level. I was responsible for creating tests for training officers while conducting classes for all newly promoted training officers, sergeants, lieutenants and captains. I was responsible for assigning all recruits to various districts for the field training.  Finally, I was responsible for conducting hostile workplace classes for all crossing guards and probationary police officers.
