Fake Cop Arrested After He made a Traffic Stop, Police Discover Handcuffs, machete, and bullet proof best in trunk.
On July 7, 2024, at approximately 2135 hours, a Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC) officer, while on uniform land patrol in a marked patrol truck, observed an incident on St. John’s Parkway just south of Hartford Avenue in St. John’s County, Florida. The officer witnessed two vehicles traveling southbound on the opposite side of the road, with the rear vehicle activating lights resembling emergency patrol lights to conduct what appeared to be a traffic stop on the leading vehicle.
The officer performed a U-turn and approached the scene to assist, only to discover the rear vehicle was a marked security vehicle belonging to “Godly Security Agency,” a 2015 black Ford Taurus previously registered as a police vehicle. The vehicle bore markings indicating it was a “Patrol Unit,” with officer insignia on the sides and activated LED white and green emergency lights.
As the officer approached, the vehicle initially stopped by the security vehicle drove away. The officer identified the individual in the security vehicle as the defendant, later confirmed through a Florida driver’s license. The defendant was dressed in khaki BDU shorts and a dark polo shirt displaying a badge insignia on the chest and rank stripes on the sleeves. He was openly carrying a loaded Glock 19 (gen 5) pistol on his right hip. The defendant claimed he conducted the stop to check on the vehicle’s driver, citing a strong mechanical odor and the presence of hazard lights.
The officer informed the defendant that conducting such a welfare traffic stop violated the driver’s civil rights. During the interaction, the defendant admitted to routinely performing similar stops. His loaded firearm was seized, and his identification was obtained. The defendant was detained and placed in the patrol truck pending further investigation for impersonating a police officer. Deputies from the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office and a Florida Highway Patrol trooper arrived to assist with the investigation. The defendant was read his Miranda rights and agreed to speak further, confirming his actions and stating he was “on duty” that evening, despite the location not being part of his assigned jurisdiction.
A search of the defendant’s vehicle revealed additional items, including a gun belt with a baton, pepper spray, two full magazines, an empty plate carrier labeled “K9 Officer,” a bulletproof vest, a machete, two pairs of handcuffs, a vehicle dash camera, and a body-worn camera that had been recording during the investigation. Both cameras were seized for evidence.
The following items were logged into evidence at the St. John’s County facility (locker #6):
• Body-worn camera (BWC)
• Firearm with ammunition and magazine
• Dash camera
Search warrants may be sought to access the recording devices upon direction from the State Attorney’s Office. The defendant’s vehicle was towed by Allan’s Towing but not seized.
The defendant was transported to the St. John’s County Jail without incident. His handcuffs were double-locked and checked for proper fit. The patrol truck was inspected before and after transport with no findings. The defendant was charged with the following violations under Florida State Statutes:
• F.S. 843.08: Impersonating an Officer
• F.S. 790.053(1): Open Carry of a Firearm or Electric Weapon/DeviceDonny Rapture,POLICE WATCH,cops,bodycam,body camera,police,news law&crime network,code blue cam,police interaction,police officer,crime documentaries,crime documentary,dui,police activity,police videos,POLICE INSIDER,police insider uncut,first amendment audit,1st amendment audit,inside edition,corrupt cops caught on camera,cop,live pd,a&e,law and crime network,crime,law enforcement,donut operator,FWC,Fish And Wildlife,Hunting,Fishing.

Albuquerque, NM — Daniel A. Mitchem is no Dewitte. On February 8, 2020, officers of the Albuquerque Police Department Auto Theft Unit had deployed a City-owned white Chevy Tahoe as a bait car. The operation was active in the area of 810 Copper Avenue NW, and the Tahoe was being electronically monitored with audio and video recording devices as well as GPS.
An APD detective who was present in an undercover capacity was walking toward the bait car when he was approached by a male wearing a red flannel shirt, blue jacket, and black jean pants. The detective stated that the male subject “took a step backwards while pushing his jacket away from the right side of his hip and placed his right hand on a camouflage firearm that was secured in his waistband area.”
According to the detective, the male subject identified himself as a member of the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department. In turn, the detective identified himself as a member of the Albuquerque Police Department. The male responded out of protocol: he immediately hopped into the bait car and fled the scene at high speed. Clever.
Detectives from APD’s Auto Theft Unit located the vehicle in the area of 13th Street SW and Rio Avenue SW, where they observed the male subject outside of the vehicle attempting to conceal something near the area of the vehicle’s spare tire.
The male subject saw the detectives, got back into the vehicle, and drove off once again at a high rate of speed. Detectives were ultimately able to contact and detain the male as he pulled up to the front of a residence on the 800 block of Pacific Avenue SW. It was there that detectives identified their subject as Daniel A. Mitchem and observed that his belt was undone on its right side, and that the belt itself was out of Mitchem’s pant loops. Mitchem was advised of his Miranda rights and agreed to speak with the police.
During the field interview that followed, Mitchem mostly-admitted to having identified himself as a Sheriff’s Deputy, and he freely admitted to being a felon, claiming ignorance that the gun was real. Mitchem told detectives that he had disposed of the firearm underneath the white Tahoe in the area of its rear bumper, and the gun was promptly recovered. The Springfield 9mm with a magazine containing 13 live rounds was far from fake.
A criminal history query of Daniel A. Mitchem found that he had three previous felony cases that had resulted in convictions, including aggravated 2nd degree murder, aggravated armed robbery, tampering with evidence, escape from a penitentiary, and conspiracy to bring contraband into a prison. All in New Mexico.
On March 10, 2020 a Grand Jury delivered a federal indictment of Daniel A. Mitchem for one count of 18:922(g)(1) Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, and one count of 18:922(j) Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Mitchem is currently in custody pending trial, which is now set for June 15, 2020.

You can no longer drop someone’s name and get out of a drunk driving arrest.
She got pulled over by the Police Department, her fiance is with the Sheriff’s Office…so 2 different agencies and likely why the guys making the arrest didn’t know her fiance.
Hopefully it was clear in the video but at the 09:10 mark she is trying to make a phone call with her Apple Watch. That’s why the officer took the watch from her. I’m not sure if that is policy or something…
*Subjects in these videos should always be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Due to body cameras and cameras everywhere, you cannot be a law enforcement officer or related to a law enforcement officer and get away with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Deputies report:
On 05-3-2025 at approximately 2330 hours I was working the line of a department authorized DWI checkpoint at Unser and Rainbow for all northbound traffic. The checkpoint was well lit, had official signs, orange cones, and marked Sheriff’s Department vehicles. While working the line I observed a Gray Ford truck approaching the orange cones that designate two lanes of traffic. I briefly contacted the driver (later identified as Jonathan Franco) and could immediately smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Francos’s breath as Franco spoke with me and I could see that Franco had blood shot and watery eyes. I asked Franco if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages that evening to which Franco replied yes that he had consumed one or two beers about one hour prior to my contact. I conducted a Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test with Franco still in the vehicle and turned to face me square on where I did observe lack of smooth pursuit. I asked Franco to exit the vehicle, upon exiting the vehicle I did observe a child in the backseat of the vehicle who Franco advised was his six-year-old daughter. On a smooth, level, and well-lit surface, free of any debris, Franco conducted standardized field sobriety tests. The first test performed was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Franco was provided instruction per the NHTSA standards and did not advise of glasses, contacts or any medical issues that would prevent him from participation. During the test Franco showed Lack of smooth pursuit in both eyes, showed distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation in both eyes and onset nystagmus at forty five degrees in both eyes. The second test performed was the walk and turn test. Franco was provided the instructions for his part per the NHTSA standard. I demonstrated the test and at the conclusion of instruction I did ask Franco if he understood the test as I had explained and performed the test to which he replied he did. Franco was instructed to start the test and stepped offline twice, missed heel to toe twice, raised his arms and performed an improper turn.
The third test performed was the one leg stand test. Franco was placed in the required position and provided instructions per NHTSA. I performed the test and explained it to Franco and at the conclusion of the test I did ask Franco if he understood the test to which he replied he did. Franco was instructed to start the test and during the test Franco did sway, used arms for balance and put his foot down one time. Franco performed poorly on these tests and was ultimately placed under arrest for DWI. The New Mexico Implied Advisory was read on scene where he agreed to submit to testing, Franco submitted two breath samples (after a 20 minute deprivation period which started at 2343 hours and ending at 0003) using a certified and functioning Intoxilizer 9000 that were .08g/210L BrAC and .08g/210L BrAC. After a resource check of Franco I found that this was Francos first DWI. Once all booking paperwork was completed Franco was transported and booked. A guardian was contacted and responded to the scene and was identified as Franco’s family member. With Franco’s permission the child was released into her custody after she was checked using government resources that she was valid and had no wants or warrants. The vehicle Franco was operating was also released into the family members custody.
