DEFUNDING THE POLICE
Posted by Michelle on July 27, 2024 at 2:09 amWhat does DEFUNDING the POLICE exactly mean? Why is Kamala Harris such a huge proponent and supporter of DEFUNDING THE POLICE. Why did Kamala Harris aggressively support the DEFUNDING THE POLICE movement after the George Floyd killing by Minneapolis POLICE. Why was Kamala Harris the biggest supporter of DEFUNDING THE LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT by Los Angeles Mayor Garcetti. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti proposed of cutting the Los Angeles Police DEPARTMENT budget by $150 million dollars and Kamala Harris, at the time the United States Senator from California was Eric Garcetti’s biggest supporter. We don’t need a Presidential candidate who is anti-law enforcement and who doesn’t care about fighting crime. Kamala Harris is a joke. An international disgrace who is a disgusting example of a human being.

I am a firm believer Kamala Harris is not qualified to be President of the United States. Kamala Harris is also soft on crime and have turned the California Justice System upside down due to her far left liberal beliefs. Harris was also a stout proponent of the defunding the police movement after the death of George Floyd in 2020.
Police Defunding Movement
What Does It Mean To Defund The Police?
Defunding the police is a movement that calls for the diversion of money from law enforcement agencies to other community services like mental health care, education, housing, and other social services. This is aimed at dealing with the root causes of crimes and reducing reliance on policing by providing more support to community-based initiatives.
How Does The Movement Operate?
Money Reassignment: Advocates suggest slashing police department budgets to use those funds for community programs that can prevent crimes and enhance living standards.
Policy Adjustments: Changes in policing practices, such as de-escalation training and use of force policy amendments, among others, should be implemented
Community Programs: Investing in mental health support, education facility construction or renovation, affordable housing project establishment, and job creation schemes targeting vulnerable groups like ex-offenders may help reduce contact between them and the police, thereby avoiding criminal behavior.
Political Support Towards Defunding the Police
Various politicians and public figures have shown their support for police defunding, although levels differ greatly depending on who you ask. While some call for the complete abolition of forces, others request reallocation, and others seek comprehensive reforms within departments themselves or all three at once.
Prominent Supporters:
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) strongly backs redirecting police money into community services.
Ilhan Omar: Her standpoint is that this process should form part of wider criminal justice system overhaul efforts.
Rashida Tlaib: Wants many aspects changed, notably monetary allocations, which affect how they operate. This includes removing some powers altogether if necessary, thus leading one down the path towards zero funding, eventually achieved through partial dismantlement before being rebuilt. Again, from scratch, according to new priorities determined solely by communities rather than the top-down approach currently enforced, most decisions are made by policymakers who barely understand the needs of ordinary citizens le, let alone any given neighborhood, let alone a citywide area, let alone nation.
Kamala Harris and Defunding the Police
Support for Eric Garcetti’s Budget Changes
Although Kamala Harris has never openly advocated defunding the police in its traditional sense, her position on law enforcement reform can be interpreted differently by different people.
Los Angeles Budget Changes: In 2020, amidst protests nationwide following George Floyd’s death while being arrested under color of authority unlawfully exercised against him due to race (which sparked riots all across America), Mayor Eric Garcetti proposed cutting $150M from LA PD budget, which was supposed to go towards community programs instead.
Kamala Harris’s Stance: No direct evidence suggests that she actively campaigned against or for Garcetti’s budget cuts but rather took up a broader perspective with a bigger scope aimed at radical changes within the entire policing system to address the causes associated with racism in America today.
Is Kamala Harris Against Law Enforcement?
Kamala Harris’s record speaks for itself regarding this question, but it would seem like an oversimplification; yes and no would be accurate answers. She served as San Francisco District Attorney and then later California State Attorney General, where she implemented several tough-on-crime measures characterized by mandatory minimum sentences and other similar policies associated with such an approach. However, during tenure, she did manage to create various intervention programs designed specifically to reduce repeat offenses among offenders while fostering better relationships between communities themselves through their respective officers, thus enabling more effective crime prevention strategies within those areas served best through targeted intelligence-led led operations focusing primarily upon known offenders regardless whether they committed past offenses or not.
Pushing For Change: She has been at the forefront of campaigns to ban chokeholds, establish a national use-of-force standard, and increase body cameras and training budgets, among other things.
It seems that when it comes down to Kamala Harris’ stance on policing and defunding them altogether, there are many shades that could be summarized under one word – complex. While she may support certain reforms within law enforcement agencies as well as reallocating part of some money towards community service provision, she has never openly called out for the complete abolition of police forces in any given jurisdiction across the USA. This can be attributed partly to her background, having worked as a prosecutor before becoming senator plus attorney general. Some critics argue that these experiences made her too sympathetic towards those who commit crimes rather than the victims themselves, thereby creating imbalance within the criminal justice system overall.

The “Defund the Police” development alludes to a motto and another social movement that increased recognition in the US after many well-known cases of police malpractice, especially in 2020. Here’s an outline of what it means:
Meaning of “Defund the Police”:
A single definition does not exist for this term, as it has various interpretations. Some people believe that it entails:
Reallocating funds involves transferring an amount from one thing (like a department) to another, such as education or mental health service programs run by governments.
Reimagining public safety: This process involves society taking another look at policing within communities with ideas on alternative models for community safety being developed.
Complete abolition: A few advocates want the total disbandment of all forces nationwide.
How the movement operates:
Those who support this cause propose the following:
Reducing police budgets
Investing more money into community-based services instead
Demilitarizing police forces
Implementing different ways to respond when dealing with non-violent events
Political support:
Mainstream Democratic leaders have largely avoided using the word ‘defunding’ while still advocating reform. However, local politicians usually back these movements more strongly than their national counterparts, so presidents like Joe Biden, among others, may not directly share the views expressed here. However, some parts could overlap depending upon interpretation.
What do we know about Kamala Harris and the $150m cut from the LAPD budget?
No evidence suggests Kamala Harris supported Mayor Eric Garcetti’s decision to defund the Los Angeles Police Department by $150 million. Still, claims should be verified against trustworthy sources before accepting them.
What we do know is that during protests following George Floyd’s death last year, Mayor Garcetti proposed cutting 150 million dollars out of his city’s police force, which led some people to criticize him as an anti-law enforcement officer friendly towards criminals, etc. Still, no information available confirms or denies whether she backed such a move while running for office again later than once inaugurated into the VP role.
Is Kamala Harris anti-law enforcement?
Due to her background as attorney general and prosecutor, Kamala Harris has had an intricate relationship with law enforcement. However, it should be noted that while being tough on crime, she also received support from some progressive groups who felt that accountability was needed within these systems. Additionally, resources were increased for organizations involved in this field, but still, there were calls made demanding change in those sectors, too, so no one is completely right.
Politicians’ positions often have many shades of gray. They can change over the years, so consult official documents like statements and voting records if you want accurate information about any person’s standpoint.

I like Tulsi Gabbard. Why can’t the Democrats pick someone like Tulsi Gabbard who is qualified to be President instead of a shitshow like Kamala Harris.
Early Life and Education of Tulsi Gabbard: Tulsi Gabbard was born on April 12, 1981, in Leloaloa, American Samoa, but grew up in Hawaii. Her parents are Mike and Carol Gabbard, with whom she has four siblings. Her father is Samoan-European, while her mother is European. The family relocated to the U.S. when she was two years old.
Most of Gabbard’s formative years were spent being home-schooled, though she later attended Hawaii Pacific University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2009.
Military Service
In 2003, Tulsi Gabbard enlisted in the Hawaii Army National Guard, which saw her undertake two Middle East deployments: Iraq in 2004 and Kuwait from 2008-2009. Additionally, she received the Meritorious Service Medal and other award citations for commendable service rendered during this time frame.
Political Career
Hawaii State Legislature: In 2002, at only twenty-one years old, Tulsi Gabbard began her political journey by becoming a member of Hawaii’s House of Representatives, becoming the youngest woman ever elected to any U.S. state legislature at that particular time.
Honolulu City Council: After serving temporarily at the state level, followed by military duty, Gabbard’s next move was winning the election to Honolulu City Council in 2011.
U.S. House Representatives: However, it wasn’t until four years later, after being voted into office as Representative for Hawaii’s second congressional district, that she achieved national prominence. Tulsi Gabbard was also re-elected twice consecutively after that, ultimately losing her senatorial bid during the mid-term elections held last year alongside many other Democratic Party colleagues. Other Democrats’ fates likewise shared similar outcomes vis-a-vis Republican counterparts due primarily to nationwide dissatisfaction over President Obama’s leadership. It was also coupled with various scandals plaguing his administration, such as the Benghazi incident, among others.
2020 Presidential Campaign: Tulsi Gabbard officially declared her intention to seek the Democratic Party nomination for the presidency during the 2019 election cycle and emphasized ending wars that were instigated through regime change or intervention as well as focusing attention on climate change plus criminal justice reforms within America, among other issues. However, after failing to win enough delegates to secure a party ticket, she suspended campaign activities in March 2020 before formally endorsing Joe Biden as a nominee that month.
Political Positions and Notable Actions
Tulsi Gabbard has always been known to hold anti-war views, especially concerning matters concerning U.S. involvement in Middle East conflicts, which saw her become one of the fiercest critics over time. However, this wasn’t the only area where she voiced concerns; she also advocated strongly for changes relating to environmental protection and the criminal justice system, not forgetting healthcare reforms, which were also needed.
Controversies:
During the Syrian Civil War, much criticism was directed toward Representative Tulsi. This was due to the two leaders being held responsible for such immense loss of innocent lives, namely, President Assad, also known as Butcher Damascus, by some quarters, while others accused him of being behind the use of chemical weapons against his people. However, despite all these allegations leveled at him, no conclusive evidence was presented proving his direct involvement, thus making the meeting seem pointless. Nonetheless, it still drew sharp condemnation, mostly due to the inability to understand why someone would want to meet an individual widely regarded as a war criminal involved in serious human rights abuses perpetrated during conflict. Tens of thousands of innocent Syrians had died. The deaths were caused by actions taken under his leadership, according to different reports available from various sources. This includes a U.N. fact-finding mission, which alleged crimes against humanity carried out by Syrian government forces loyal to its president were committed during the same period.
The early portion of career history includes having adopted conservative positions regarding LGBTQ+. However, it shifted to a more progressive stance in later years, thereby attracting criticism from certain quarters who viewed it as mere political expediency rather than a genuine change of heart attitude displayed earlier towards these matters.
Personal Life
Being a Hindu follower herself, who happens to be the first Congress member, had previously practiced vegetarianism veganism as well but since then tried different diets, ending up with what works best for individual health. Abraham Williams, cinematographer Surfer wedded each other in the 2015 general election where, despite losing their bid to become President of the United States, they remained an active participant in public life, particularly within the realm of international relations, while contributing regularly through media appearances concerning American foreign affairs policy discussion, among others.
Current Activities
Since exiting office, the Congresswoman has maintained a high-profile presence in national discourse around current state affairs. This was done by hosting podcast programs and frequenting various television talk shows as a guest commentator. Given her background expertise in such matters, this offered insights into various subjects related to U.S. domestic politics and global diplomacy.
