My very first dog was a female German Shepherd in 1983. In my freshman year in high school, my father made a deal with me. If I made straight A’s my first semester, he was going to buy me a pure-bred German Shepherd puppy, which was my dream dog. I got straight A’s, and my father honored his word. I named her Jeannie and she was the best dog, besides my toy poodle, I ever had. She was like human. Always my best friend. When I went off to college, I had to have a friend take care of Jeannie. Jeannie ran away from his house to find her way home. Phenomenal dog who I still think of. This 10-month-old German Shepherd puppy is smart but very immature, and I think the breeder did not take care of Chase very well. I will keep everyone posted on my progress with this funny little friend.
