Who has horses?
Posted by John on August 26, 2023 at 1:16 pmI have owned a lot of horses but this one was special… Here I am with Hez Party Impressive way back in the day… He won Weanling Stallions and was Reserve Champion Stallion that day… If you show AQHA in TX, you know that’s not easy…

I live in the Midwest with cold winters. What do you do when the weather is subzero? I love ❤️ animals and with me, I would bring the horse inside my house. But horses shit like birds. Every 15 minutes they need to take a dump I heard. I think it would be cruel leaving horses outdoors during subzero weather.

You’d be surprised… We lived at 8800ft in Colorado and the horses stayed outside, they grow really thick coats… They had a place to block the wind and they were fine… Here in Texas, we kept the show horses under lights and blankets to keep the hair off in the winter…clean the stall twice a day… It’s a lot of work…

I believe so, I have a few horses and they seem to be very smart. They also really morn if one horse goes missing. They are intelligent emotional creatures from what I’ve seen.

Being a horse girl and having 2 – I can say the horses are very intelligent and have a herd dynamic. I never thought that I would love my horses as much as I do . They are a companion animal. If you have extra funds, please donation to local horse rescues… Dirty little secret that many people don’t know a lot of horses go to auctions and then get put on a truck to Mexico or Canda for SLAUGHTER! Horses are not food! People don’t realize we medicate horses with BUTE along with other medications that a lethal to humans. Racetrack is terrible many OTTB end up in kill lots not all horses are going to be the next legend. Thats why I don’t support some of these sports. If you have a local barn, go, take a lesson – I promise you will learn more about yourself with horses than with any human being!

I love all types of animals but do not know anything about horses. I own a house that sits on seven acres and horses are allowed. However, I do not know whether I am ready for the responsibility of giving the type of time needed to become a horse owner.
