Illustrative scenario: The mortgage closes. Family’s responsibility continues.
This is an illustrative scenario, not a specific file.
The mortgage closes — and the family’s responsibility continues.
The monthly payment doesn’t end at the closing table; it runs for years, and it’s usually tied to one or two incomes.
That’s where mortgage protection comes in.
It’s life insurance sized around the mortgage: the balance, the family’s needs, and the budget. If the insured dies while the coverage is in force and the claim is payable, the beneficiaries can use the death benefit to pay off the mortgage, keep making the payments, or meet other expenses.
The point for the loan officer: the closing isn’t the end of the borrower’s financial story. A family with a plan for the mortgage after closing is a family positioned to keep the home they just bought.
One honest caveat, because it matters: what fits which family depends on the policy and the situation — the details are in the policy, not in this post.
