I’m Nelson Thompson, but my team calls me Sensei. I’m a small-town Memphis born wholesale loan broker, mentor, and educator with big dreams. Obsessed with: self-improvement, having fun with my family, a good read, a walk in nature, and pajama pants. I’ve been in the lending world since 2011. I didn’t always know in what way I wanted to help people: but I’ve always had an innate need to help people make things happen… In 2011, I invested in a mortgage loan officer pre-licensing class and studied relentlessly to pass that national exam. Little did I know, that bold step would be my one-way ticket to a profession that truly meets that innate need to help people. 15+ years in, numerous clients in a better financial situation and many loan officers trained and mentored. • I was sitting with my wife talking about the challenges my clients were having while trying buy a home. I said to her, “there’s a lot of misinformation that people are believing in, and it’s causing a lot of people to get denied and discouraged”. She then said to me, “Babe, why don’t you just educate people?”. That’s all it took, and I was on a mission ever since!
