Over the past few years, it seems like RAM has been on a path of total self-destruction. First, they raise prices to insane levels on all their trucks.
Then they removed one of the best V8 engines ever and replaced it with a turbo six-cylinder.
And the final nail in the coffin was when they decided to stop making the RAM TRX. Not only did they get rid of one of the coolest trucks ever created.
They tried replacing it with the RAM RHO, with a turbo inline 6.
And so far, sales of that truck have been terrible.
In fact, sales across the board for RAM have been so bad that they are laying off thousands of workers, and dealerships are in serious trouble.
In early 2025, Ram truck sales experienced a huge decline, with a significant drop in overall sales and an 11% decrease in Ram 1500 sales.
This downward trend for RAM was a huge warning to the people in charge of this failing American Icon.
They see the writing on the wall, and as of now, they have made a few major announcements that could possibly turn the sinking ship around.
Despite the initial hype, RAM recently announced they are bringing back the HEMI V8.
