We help newer MLOs close loans they might have otherwise missed and help them make sure the loans they originate get to closing in 1-2 underwriting touches. It’s especially difficult for newer, remote MLOs to learn underwriting guidelines. Thousands of pages to cover and even then hundreds of topics aren’t clearly defined and remain open to underwriter discretion. We’ve looked at over 80,000 underwriting decisions to find every place where underwriter discretion comes into play so the newer MLO can identify the issue and deal with it during the pre-approval stage. The only thing worse than not knowing how to structure a loan and find out another MLO knew how to do it is to tell one of your Realtor partners that your pre-approval was solid only to have the deal die in underwriting.
