10 Best Used Luxury SUVs
Posted by Hunter on January 18, 2026 at 3:44 amTen most trusted luxury SUVs worth buying after warranty in 2025. And number one? You absolutely won’t believe it. Consumer Reports and JD Power just confirmed what dealerships don’t want you to know. Most luxury SUVs turn into financial black holes the second the warranty expires. Except these ten. I’ve got real owner receipts showing 200,000 miles with zero breakdowns, mechanic interviews revealing which models they actually recommend, and failure data that exposes

Generally, SUVs are all expensive and very nice. However, all SUVs are depreciating double digits. I have a 2019 Ford Expedition Max but upgraded it to a Ford Expedition Platinum. I purchased OEM parts, accessories, 22 inch OEM wheels, brand new tires, heated and cooled front seats, a $3,000 built-in Kenwood Stereo and Speakers, built in Navigation, remote start, exterior accent trims and accessories. However I did not ADD OEM moon roof.
My wife and I both have our Gruns Snack Pack Everyday! Get yourself some an SUV.
Is the Ford Expedition Max Platinum worth the $78,000 price tag? Not with the Failing
the Ford 1080R 10 speed transmission was designed but both Ford and Gm engineers and has failed along with the cam phasers and it is costing customers over $10,000 to replace. There is no class action law suit or even an extended warranty for the hard shift mis-shifting and clunking and grinding that comes from it

I highly do not recommend anyone to buy a brand new vehicle. If you fo, be prepared on a blood shattering accelerated value of new cars where your vehicle most likely be worth half especially full sized SUVs. Buy a used SUV instead. Look at the video attached. This used car dealer from New Hampshire and Florida buys a 2017 used Cadillac Escalade with 123,000 miles. A brand new Cadillac Escalade will cost you close to $150,000 with taxes. This Cadillac Escalade is worth $10,000. I will buy a used vehicle that already has been depreciated.

Here’s another example. The Cadillac Escalade SUV had a sticker MSRP of $92,000. The owner probably paid over $100,000with sales tax and a bunch of junk fees most auto dealers add on. Ten years later it was sold to Craig from Flying Wheels for $9,400.00.
In this video, Craig from Flying Wheels documents his process of purchasing a high-value, one-owner 2015 Cadillac Escalade ESV at a dealer auction for only $9,450. Despite being a “gamble” due to unknown mechanical issues common at auctions, he successfully restores the vehicle for resale.
Key steps in the restoration and sales process include:
Mechanical Repairs: The vehicle arrived with significant brake issues. Craig replaced the brake pads, rotors, calipers, master cylinder, and brake booster.
He opted to use a mobile mechanic to manage costs effectively, saving approximately 300% compared to traditional shop estimates.
Cosmetic Restoration: Craig did extensive cleaning and detailing, including a full paint correction with wet sanding, compounding, and polishing to address oxidation and surface textures.
He also repainted the roof, which was severely damaged by the sun.
Documentation and Value: By checking the VIN and service records, he confirmed it was a well-maintained one-owner vehicle serviced exclusively at a Cadillac dealer. This history, combined with the successful mechanical repairs, allowed him to list the SUV for $16,500, offering it as one of the most affordable options for this body style .
Craig emphasizes the risks of buying “as-is” at auctions but notes that successful flips like this help offset losses from other, more problematic projects.

Another 2015 Cadillac Escalade SUV purchased for $6,900.
In this video, mechanical engineer and car enthusiast Matt Ryan documents the process of purchasing, repairing, and flipping a 2015 Cadillac Escalade acquired from Copart for $6,900. The vehicle was a theft recovery that arrived non-operational, leading Matt and his team on an extensive journey to restore it for resale.
Key repair milestones:
Engine & Start Issues
After initial concerns that the engine might be locked, the team identified a bad starter, which, once replaced, allowed the vehicle to run.
Body & Interior Work
Matt addressed significant cosmetic issues, including broken side mirrors, a damaged rear door, and a worn center console.
Suspension & Drivability
The Escalade required multiple rounds of suspension repairs, including new rear air-ride shocks, an air-ride compressor, and front struts, to eliminate rough handling.
Mechanical Maintenance
After resolving the suspension, the team diagnosed and fixed cooling system issues (including a cracked coolant reservoir), a faulty thermostat, and a noisy front differential.
Final Financial Breakdown
After factoring in the purchase price, fees, transportation, parts, and labor, Matt invested a total of $15,178 into the vehicle. With a target sale price of $18,995, the project yielded a contribution margin of $3,822.
