• Rapid rescore is not credit repair — here’s the difference

A rapid rescore is not credit repair, and knowing which tool fits saves deals. A rapid rescore updates a specific account balance or status at the bureaus in 5–7 business days using documentation, such as a balance letter or statement, when a borrower has paid something down mid-application. Credit repair is the longer dispute process for inaccurate items. A rescore cannot fix a late payment or remove a collection. Use a rescore when the facts have already changed and you need the bureaus to reflect them quickly; use disputes when the reporting itself is inaccurate. If you are a loan officer with a borrower who is close, I am happy to look at their report free and give you a straight read on which tool fits.
